Can you post more details? What Linux distribution? and as much especial as possible. If you don't own too much Linux knowledge I would propose installing Webmin. It is a web interface to administer almost everything on your server. On debian you can download webmin using apt-get and on greatest others you can only download the RPM or tar sphere from the webmin site.
